The pool will again offer our Early Morning Adult Swim Program this season. The program is expected to be conducted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. We expect the program to begin on June 7, 2010. Please check back for more details as the season nears.

YOGA CLASSES IN THE MORNING

Connect your mind, body & spirit while your kids shave down their lap times!  The V is offering yoga classes to our members this summer.  The classes will be held in the grassy picnic area during morning swim team practice sessions.  The one-hour sessions will be taught by our very own Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor, Rachel Chadesh.  More information will be provided once session details are finalized.

SNACK BAR INFORMATION

We are very excited to announce that we have retained Bill's Placeto operate our snack bar this summer and, we hope, for years to come.  Most of you are familiar with Bill's Place in LaGrange Park and the wonderful food and service they offer.  Please check out the brand new and extensive menu here:  2010 MENU.   The V will be offering everything from crisp salads to chicken tenders to paninis to Italian Beef and a broad variety of traditional snack bar fare: pizza, hot dogs, ice cream treats, etc.  Exciting weekly weekly specials are being planned, too.  Also, with only very minor exceptions, the snack bar will be open whenever the pool is open!

WEEKEND FLOATIES!

On Saturdays and Sundays, members can enjoy floaties and noodles in thr pool from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Floaties, noodles and other inflatable pool toys or devices are not allowed in the pool other than on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Kickboards may only be used for kicking laps in the swimming lane.

ICE FOR SALE!

Avoid that stop at the convenience store and keep the refreshments cold!  The pool will continue to provide ice for our Member's use.  The ice is sold at cost, $1.00 a bag.  Starting this year, ice will be sold through the snack bar.

AIR PUMP

The VFC offers an electric air pump for our members' convenience in inflating their floaties and other pool toys for Weekend Floaties.  The pump is located on the pool deck under outside the Manager's Office.  Please see the Manager if you have any questions or need assistance.

PRIVATE PARTY POLICY

One of the privileges of membership at the VFC is our members' opportunity to utilize the grounds for private parties. As private parties impact the daily operation and  administration of the pool and impact our other members, all parties must be booked in advance and approved by with the Pool Manager.  Hosting members may use two picnic tables exclusively for their event. The exercise of simple courtesy is expected of our members: Be polite to fellow members who are not attending your party and pick up all trash, food and other debris when your party ends. A Party Sign-Up Sheet to complete and turn in to the Pool Manager is available here.

Following are the specific pool rules and regulations for parties:

A.  Parties consist of member events consisting of ten or more guests.

B.  All party requests must be presented in advance to the Manager and must be approved in advance by the Manager.

C.  A guest list identifying all non-members attending the party must be provided to the manager in advance.  The hosting member is required to purchase guest passes for each non-member guest. Without guest passes, non-member guests will not be allowed to enter the grounds. The VFC will refund to our members any payment made for guest passes purchased for non-member guests who do not attend the party.

D.  Adult supervision is required for all children under the age of 13.

E.  The pool manager has the discretion and full authority to limit the number of private parties on any given day if he or she feels that unsafe conditions or undue burden on other Members and/or staff will occur due to the number of requested events.

F. Parties are not permitted on Opening Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day or special event days including, but not limited to, such as the Pig Roast, Campout Days, Movie Night, Family Day, and End of Year Swim Team Party.

Such decisions are wholly within the discretion of the Pool Manager and the Board of Directors.
