The club is located on the southeast corner of Plainfield Road and Madison Street. Take Plainfield Road west to Madison Street. Turn left on Madison (south); turn left directly into the club. End of the Year Swim Team Party

Our Mighty Dolphins celebrate the end of their season!  Awards will be given to recognize our outstanding competitors and the team will enjoy a family-style feast.  The pool will be closed for just one hour, from 4:00 - 5:00 pm, for the Dophins' exclusive use.  The Swim Team will utilize the south half of the picnic area for their dinner and awards ceremony from 5:00-7:00 pm.  The rest of the grounds will be open for all of our members' use and enjoyment.

2010 Conference Swim Meet

Salt Creek Swim Club will be hosting the conference meet at the Hinsdale Community Pool, 500 West Hinsdale Avenue in Hinsdale.  Further details will be provided as the event grows near and as they are made available by SCSC.

2010 Coaches Letter

YOUR VFC DOLPHINS SWIM TEAM

WHAT IS IT?  IT IS SWIM TEAM!

A competitive swim team for swimmers ages 6-18.  We compete against other pools in meets both home and away. This year we will have six meets; meets are held on Monday and Thursday evenings. 

When is it?

 New Swimmer Evaluations:  New Swimmer Evaluations will be held on June 1, 2010 form 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.  The raindate for these evaluations is June 2, 2010 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m..

 School-In-Session Practice Schedule:  From June 3 through June 11:  Practices will be held Monday through Friday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. for swimmers age 10 & under and from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for swimmers 11 & over.  

●  Time Trials:  On Monday, June 14, time trials for all swimmers will be held at the pool from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. for all swimmers.  Time Trials will be conducted in a practice meet format.

School-Out-of-Session Practice Schedule:  From June 15 through July 16, practices are in the mornings, time dependent upon the age of the swimmer.  Practices will be held Monday through Thursday from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. for swimmers 11 and over and from 9:00 to 10:00 for swimmers 10 and under.  

PRACTICE WILL ONLY BE CANCELLED DUE TO LIGHTNING.  ANY SWIM TEAM MEMBERS PRESENT AT THE POOL WILL BE EXPECTED TO PRACTICE.

Who is it?

Any swimmer that is interested in being part of a great team should join. Swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool repeatedly for an hour’s time. Any swimmer under the age of eight without previous swim team experience will be evaluated by the coaches prior to the first practice.

Signup:
Registration will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the LaGrange Park Village Hall.

 

What do I bring:

Your swimmer if trying on a team suit, your checkbook (you will write several checks; one for registration, one for the suit and gear, and one for any apparel you wish to buy), and your calendar.  We are an all-volunteer organization, and all swim team families must volunteer.

Swim suits:

Team suits are chosen and used for a two year period.  As such, there is a new team suit for this year and next.  The 2010-2011 team suits will be available for sizing and purchase at the April 22, 2010 registration.

2010 Team Shirts:

 New this year:  Our 2010 coaches are designing our team t-shirts!  Purchase your very own at registration!

 

Team Expectations:

Swim team members are expected to attend practice regularly, work hard and be respectful of their coaches, opponents, staff and fellow teammates.  Swim team members are expected to attend as many meets as possible.  Swim team parents are expected to encourage their child’s progress and volunteer as required.

 Team Goals:

The VFC’s goals for the swim team are foster a sense of confidence, self-accomplishment and team unity, while improving stroke technique and endurance during the summer swim season.
